Taken from this year’s Summer Heat LP, the chilled out beats of Blackbird Blackbird’s ‘Hawaii’ have been taken and warped into something otherworldly and beautiful. The reworking is courtesy of NIVA, or Christian Niva to his friends, another young bedroom prodigy hailing from Stockholm. Having already been featured by the likes of Pitchfork himself, it’ll come as no surprise to hear that this is somewhat of a masterpiece, a track haunted by itself; delivered with eerie precision, bubbling with both ideas and energy.

The Cure’s Robert Smith and Crystal Castles leader Alice Glass may be “Not in Love”, but we certainly are enamoured with the duo’s grainy VHS-style footage set to arguably the best track of 2010.

I, too, have donned plaid flannel to stand with the hipster masses in lineups outside Ritual Roasters and no fewer than 3 Blue Bottle locations. Worth the wait.
